Liverpool's pre-season tour of the United States concluded on a high note with a commanding 3-0 victory over Manchester United in Columbia.

The match saw goals from Fabio Carvalho, Curtis Jones, and Kostas Tsimikas, rounding off a promising series of fixtures across the Atlantic, with victories over Real Betis, Arsenal and now United.

Talking to liverpoolfc.com, Head coach Arne Slot reflected on the tour's success and the areas for improvement as the team gears up for the upcoming season.

Slot expressed mixed feelings about the performance despite the impressive scoreline.

"We are very happy with the result; we scored some really nice goals," he said.

However, he noted that the game wasn't entirely under Liverpool's control.

"United were threatening us more than a few times. It's a 3-0 win, but the score could have been different tonight as well."

The overall assessment of the tour was upbeat. Slot emphasised the significance of the results and the physical readiness of the players.

"Very positive, I think. Of course, the results, that's where everybody is looking at. But players stayed fit and they are able to perform in the way we want, so [a] high-intensity game," he remarked.

The coach highlighted the hard work and effort put in by the team to maintain their defensive and offensive strategies.

"We saw some great goals during this tour, some great build-up situations and I see them working really, really hard not to concede."

Despite the positives, Slot acknowledged the need for further refinement.

"Today I think we gave away too many chances, United deserved more than a 3-0 loss. But it's also our quality that we do score our own chances," he stated.

Slot is focused on the upcoming two weeks of preparation before the season opener against Ipswich.

"We need to work hard in the upcoming two weeks to be ready for Ipswich because there are a lot of positives to take from today but also, like I just said, we gave away too many chances."

Slot also praised the incredible support Liverpool received in the United States.

"I knew this before I arrived at this club but if you experience it, it's massive. Not only the fans inside the stadium but they come so early and they're constantly around the hotel as well. There's massive support and I can't wait to hear the support at Anfield."
