Jake Garrett joins Bristol Rovers on loan from Blackburn
Bristol Rovers have confirmed the acquisition of Jake Garrett from Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old midfielder is the twelfth addition to the squad during this summer transfer window.
Garrett, who made 28 appearances for Blackburn last season, netted four goals and was honoured as the club’s Young Player of the Season.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Garrett stated, "I am really excited to join Bristol Rovers. I feel like I have a point to prove. I want to have the opportunity to show what I can do, week in and week out in League One."
He added, "I am ready for the physical challenge and I'm prepared to battle hard and be a valuable part of the team. I will work hard every day in training to ensure that I can perform at my best for the weekend matches."
Bristol Rovers' manager, Matt Taylor, is optimistic about Garrett’s contribution. "We are pleased to welcome Jake to the club for the 2024/25 season. Jake is a hardworking and versatile midfielder with a lot of potential and has already earned a strong reputation in the Championship. We are looking forward to continuing his development with us throughout the coming campaign," Taylor commented.
Garrett's football journey began in Liverpool, where he had stints with both the Liverpool and Everton academies before joining Blackburn Rovers at nine years old. He signed his first professional contract with Blackburn in March 2020 and debuted in a Carabao Cup match in August 2022.
