Mansfield Town have signed 19-year-old forward Ben Quinn on a one-year contract after he impressed during his trial with the club.

The young Irishman, and nephew of Stags' midfielder Stephen Quinn, showcased his skills in pre-season under the watchful eye of manager Nigel Clough.

Quinn, who recently left Celtic, made an impact by scoring in friendly matches against Retford United, Hucknall Town, and Chelsea U21. These performances solidified his place in the Stags' squad for the upcoming 2024/25 season.

Manager Nigel Clough commented on the signing, stating, "Ben has done very well on trial in the last few weeks and we feel that he has some potential. We don’t have anything like him in the squad which is why we’ve signed him and are pleased to welcome him to the club.”

Expressing his enthusiasm, Quinn said, "It’s great to get the deal done. I’ve really enjoyed my month here and getting a few goals. The lads have made me feel very welcome as well. I’ve learned a lot in the past month and can’t wait to hit the ground running."

With 22 goals for Celtic B in his career so far, Quinn will be eligible to feature in Mansfield's opening match of the season against Barnsley on Friday, 9 August.
