West Brom striker Brandon Thomas-Asante signs with Coventry City
Coventry City have confirmed the signing of striker Brandon Thomas-Asante from West Bromwich Albion.
The 25-year-old, who can also operate on the wing, has committed to a four-year contract with the Sky Blues
Thomas-Asante's career began with Milton Keynes Dons, where he made his professional debut at 17.
Following loan stints at Sutton United and Oxford City, he departed MK Dons in 2019 after 35 appearances. A brief tenure at Ebsfleet United preceded his move to Salford City in League Two. Over 126 games, he netted 30 goals and helped the team secure the EFL Trophy.
His success at Salford led to a transfer to West Bromwich Albion at the start of the 2022/23 season. Thomas-Asante was the club's top scorer in both of his seasons there, scoring 9 goals in 22/23 and 12 in 23/24, across 78 appearances.
Manager Mark Robins expressed his enthusiasm for the new signing, stating, “We’re excited to welcome Brandon to Coventry City. He is a powerful and pacy striker who has goalscoring pedigree at this level plus a great attitude and work-rate. Brandon can play across the front line and will further strengthen our attacking options. We look forward to working with him at Coventry City.”
Brandon Thomas-Asante has also earned caps for Ghana.
