Full-back Vontae Daley-Campbell joins Chesterfield
Chesterfield have announced the signing of Vontae Daley-Campbell on a one-year contract, with an option for an additional year.
The full-back made a strong impression during trial matches against Alfreton Town, Sheffield United, and Derby County.
Daley-Campbell, who was last with Peterborough United, shared his enthusiasm about joining Chesterfield.
"I’m delighted to finally get it sorted," he told 1866 Sport. "It’s such a big club and a great platform for me. I’m buzzing to get it done."
The 23-year-old started his career at Arsenal’s academy and later moved to Leicester City.
His career has also included stints at Dundee and Cardiff City, along with appearances for England at U16 through U19 levels.
Since beginning his trial, Daley-Campbell has felt a strong connection with Chesterfield.
"The gaffer and the staff have been fantastic with me, and it just feels right. I’m excited to learn more about the town, the club, and the supporters and really get involved. I just want to get going now, I’m ready for it."
Danny Webb, Chesterfield's head of recruitment, expressed his satisfaction with the signing. "We’re pleased to have him. He is a top lad and a very good player, who will provide good competition for the right-back position."
