Oxford United sign Malcolm Ebiowei from Crystal Palace as Matt Phillips joins from West Brom
Oxford United have strengthened their squad with the acquisition of Malcolm Ebiowei and Matt Phillips.
Ebiowei joins on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace. The 20-year-old winger, who spent part of last season with Belgian side RWD Molenbeek, is capped three times at the England Under-20 level.
"I'm really excited to be here at Oxford United and I can't wait to get going," Ebiowei shared.
"I want to give my all for this badge and meet the ambitions of the football club."
Head Coach Des Buckingham expressed enthusiasm about Ebiowei’s arrival: “Malcolm has been training with Crystal Palace throughout the summer and is ready to hit the ground running. We are excited to see what he can offer when he steps onto the pitch.”
The club has also signed experienced winger Matt Phillips.
Phillips, who spent eight years with West Bromwich Albion, brings a wealth of experience from both the Premier League and Championship. Capped 16 times by Scotland, the 33-year-old has scored over 50 goals across the two top English divisions.
"I'm delighted. It's a great opportunity for me and I can't wait to get started," said Phillips. "I want to have another successful season with the team here and feel like I have a lot to offer."
Buckingham highlighted Phillips' versatility and leadership: “Matt brings lots of quality and experience to our forward line. He is comfortable across various positions in the forward line, and we look forward to his contributions both on and off the pitch.”
