Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos has returned to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old Brazilian, who previously played for Strasbourg in the second half of last season, will rejoin the French club to further his development. Santos made 11 appearances and scored one goal during his previous stint with Strasbourg.

After leaving Chelsea's summer tour of the USA, Santos is set to continue honing his skills in the French top flight.

Santos, born on 3 May 2004, began his professional career at Vasco da Gama in Brazil. He made his professional debut for Vasco da Gama in March 2021 and became the youngest goalscorer in the club's history in June 2022.

Chelsea signed Santos on 6 January 2023, and he has since had multiple loan spells to gain experience. After a brief period at Nottingham Forest, Santos joined Strasbourg on 1 February 2024, where he played until the end of the season.

On the international stage, Santos has represented Brazil at various youth levels. He captained the under-20 team to victory in the 2023 South American U-20 Championship, where he was the joint top scorer. He made his senior debut for Brazil in a friendly against Morocco in March 2023.
