Carlisle United have secured the services of forward Dan Adu-Adjei on a season-long loan from Bournemouth.

The 19-year-old joined Bournemouth in 2021 after a stint with Fulham and made his professional debut in the FA Cup last season, contributing to a 3-2 win against QPR. Adu-Adjei also spent four years in Brentford’s academy during his youth.

Adu-Adjei demonstrated his prowess by netting 25 goals for Bournemouth's under-18 team during the 2021/22 season and replicated this success with another 25 goals for the development side last season before joining Leyton Orient on loan. During his loan spell at Leyton Orient, he made 11 appearances and scored one goal.

Carlisle United manager Paul Simpson expressed his excitement about the new addition, stating, "He’ll bring something totally different to the forward options we’ve got at the club. He’s prolific in development football, he’s got a great goalscoring record."

Simpson acknowledged Adu-Adjei's previous loan experience, saying, "It isn’t his first loan move, so he’ll have an idea of what to expect. He had a loan to Leyton Orient for the second half of last season where he’ll probably admit he didn’t play as many minutes as he would have wanted. I’m hoping he’s learned a lot from working with Richie [Wellens] at Leyton Orient."

Reflecting on Adu-Adjei's recent activities, Simpson added, "He’s just had a fantastic trip to LA with Bournemouth’s first-team which is why we’ve had to wait to get him in with us. I’m really pleased he’s with us and I think he’ll be a great addition to the group."

Adu-Adjei will be wearing the squad number 14 during his time at Brunton Park.
