Burton Albion sign goalkeeper Harry Isted from Charlton Athletic
Burton Albion have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Harry Isted on a two-year contract from Sky Bet League One club Charlton Athletic.
The 27-year-old, originally from Chichester, will enhance the Brewers' goalkeeper line-up, joining forces with last season's Player of the Year, Max Crocombe, and Academy graduate, Kamil Dudek.
Isted, who had multiple loan spells while at Luton Town, made a significant impact during his time at Barnsley in the 2022/23 season. His record of 22 consecutive starts and nine clean sheets helped Barnsley reach the League One play-off final.
After moving to Charlton last summer, Isted became a regular starter again under manager Nathan Jones, contributing to Charlton's 14-game unbeaten run, which secured their League One status.
Reflecting on his move to Burton Albion, Isted commented, "It’s a big moment for me in my career, moving on from Charlton. Burton's new board and their vision were major factors in my decision to join. The club's history and the new owners give it a family feel, which is really nice for a footballer."
Burton Albion's manager, Bendik Hareide, expressed his satisfaction with the signing: "We are pleased to welcome Harry Isted to Burton Albion. Harry is an experienced goalkeeper who fits perfectly into our model. His skills and presence will be a valuable addition to our squad."
