Cork City secure permanent signing of Sean Murray from Glentoran

Cork City have swooped to sign Sean Murray to a a multi-year contract after the midfielder made his switch from Glentoran permanent.

The midfielder joined initially on loan until the end of July and has made 18 appearances with three goals so far.

And he joins a City side who look set to be promoted back to the Premier Division after just one season.

He spoke to the club website on the signing: “I am absolutely buzzing to sign a permanent contract here. I have really enjoyed my time at the club so far and we have had a really good season.

"I think we are in a good place to achieve our objectives for the year and hopefully push on next season.

“There is still a lot to play for in terms of the league and the cup and I am delighted to be part of that. The support we have had all season has been fantastic and I am thrilled to continue to play in front of the City fans.” 

Boss Tim Clancy spoke on the news: “Sean has been a fantastic signing for us this season so for him to commit his future to the club is something we are very happy with.

"When he came in, I said he would add experience and quality to the group, and he has delivered on that.

"He is a really good person in the dressing room and around the training ground which is what I want at the club.”
