Sheffield United sign Harrison Burrows
Sheffield United have signed Harrison Burrows from Peterborough United. The 22-year-old has signed a long-term contract, keeping him at Bramall Lane until the summer of 2028.
Last season, Burrows captained Peterborough to the League One play-off semi-finals, making 58 appearances, scoring 12 goals, and providing 18 assists.
Manager Chris Wilder expressed his satisfaction with the signing, highlighting the behind-the-scenes efforts to finalise the deal.
"When we signed Kieffer Moore, I spoke about persistence and patience from all parties, and the same applies to Harrison's move. His performances have made him highly sought after, and it's a testament to our club that he chose to come here," Wilder stated.
Wilder praised Burrows' patience and commitment to joining Sheffield United.
"His desire to play here is clear. Despite interest from other clubs, he waited, showing his belief in our club. His versatility will be a significant asset for us throughout a competitive Championship season."
Burrows shared his excitement about joining Sheffield United, calling the move a perfect step in his career.
"It's been a long time coming, but I'm thrilled it's done. I've been focusing on pre-season with Peterborough, and now I'm here, ready to prove myself on the pitch. Peterborough means a lot to me, but I'm eager for this new challenge," Burrows said.
Reflecting on his time at Peterborough, Burrows added, "Being made captain was an honour, and I enjoyed the responsibility. I've learned a lot and am ready to step up. The size of Sheffield United, the manager, and the new signings made it an easy decision. Bramall Lane has the best atmosphere I've experienced in the Championship."
Burrows joined Peterborough's academy at six and debuted for the first team in a pre-season friendly at 15. His professional career began in January 2019, and he quickly made his mark in the league. Notably, he scored two crucial goals in the EFL Trophy final, helping Peterborough secure a 2-1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers.
This summer, Burrows is Sheffield United's second transfer involving a fee and the fifth overall, following the signings of Kieffer Moore, Callum O'Hare, Sam McCallum, and Jamie Shackleton.
