Ryan Sessegnon rejoins Fulham after leaving Spurs
Fulham have secured the return of Ryan Sessegnon on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old, whose contract with Tottenham Hotspur expired last month, has signed a deal lasting until 2026, with an option for an additional year.
Sessegnon expressed his joy at rejoining Fulham, saying, "It’s amazing to be back. Emotional, as well. It’s where it started for me, where everything began, and it’s amazing to be back. It will always be home for me."
Vice Chairman Tony Khan shared his excitement, remarking, "I'm thrilled to announce that Ryan Sessegnon has returned to Fulham! Ryan grew up in our Academy, spent 11 years at the club, and developed here into a wonderful young man and a phenomenal talent. We’re all so pleased that Ryan has come back."
Sessegnon's ties with Fulham are deep. Born in Roehampton, he joined the club's academy at age nine alongside his twin brother Steven. He made his first-team debut at 16 in a League Cup match against Leyton Orient, soon followed by a league debut against Leeds United where he became the club's youngest scorer.
In his debut season, Sessegnon made 30 appearances and scored seven goals, including a brace against Newcastle United. His performance earned him a place in the PFA Team of the Year.
The next season, playing as a left-winger, he scored 16 goals, significantly contributing to Fulham’s promotion campaign and earning numerous awards, including Championship Player of the Season.
Sessegnon also made history by becoming the first player born in the 2000s to score in the Premier League, with a goal against Cardiff. He played 120 matches for Fulham, scoring 25 goals and providing 18 assists before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2019 for a record fee.
During his time with Tottenham, Sessegnon played in the Champions League, scoring against Bayern Munich, and spent a season on loan with TSG Hoffenheim. Despite regular game time at Spurs, injuries marred his final season, and he departed with 57 appearances.
Internationally, Sessegnon was part of the England squad that won the Under-19 European Championship in 2017, where he earned the Golden Boot and was named in the Team of the Tournament. He has represented England up to Under-21 level, earning 20 caps.
