Drogheda United unveil plans for new stadium
Drogheda United have published detailed plans for a new stadium development.
The club have submitted a detailed grant application for the Large Scale Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF) to develop the stadium northeast of Drogheda Town centre.
Initial detail of League of Ireland interest in the LSSIF was announced earlier this week, with the FAI supporting the applications of a number of clubs including Drogheda United.
The proposed new site will feature a stadium with 4,500 seats initially with the intention of developing two further stands.
There are two full size practice pitches, car parking, landscaping, fan zones and access roads included in the proposal.
According to the club, Louth County Council have earmarked land for the new stadium with the local authority also sponsoring the application to the LSSIF.
Full details of the proposal can be found here.
