Morecambe have announced the signing of striker Lee Angol, marking their 17th addition this summer.

The 29-year-old forward, has agreed to a one-year contract, reuniting with manager Derek Adams for the second time in his career. Angol previously played under Adams at Bradford City.

Angol began his professional journey at the Tottenham Hotspur academy before moving to Wycombe Wanderers in 2013. His early career involved several loan spells until he transferred to Luton Town.

The 2014/15 season saw him at Boreham Wood, where he earned Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season, and the Conference South Golden Boot awards, while also helping the team win the play-offs.

His success at Boreham Wood, where he netted 31 league goals, led to a move to League One side Peterborough United. During his time with Peterborough, Angol went on loan to Lincoln City, aiding their promotion to the EFL by winning the National League title.

Angol's career continued with stints at Mansfield Town, Shrewsbury Town, Leyton Orient, and Bradford City.

In January 2023, he joined Sutton United and was loaned to Woking for the latter part of the 2023/24 season. Now, Angol has made the move north to join Morecambe.

Expressing his excitement about joining Morecambe, Angol said, "It feels nice and refreshing to be in a new environment with new goals and targets, so for me it feels like a fresh start."

He added, "I'm settling in well. I know the Gaffer and a few players already; many of the boys I know from playing against them. It's a friendly club here, so I'm looking forward to it. With more minutes and training, I'll get better and fitter. The boys are already at a top level and fit as well, so hopefully, I can get to their level as quickly as I can."
