Former Waterford attacker Junior Quitirna signs for Crawley Town
Crawley Town have secured the signing of Armando Junior Quitirna from Fleetwood Town. The 24-year-old midfielder joins the Reds on an initial two-year contract.
Quitirna, originally from Guinea-Bissau, relocated to London at the age of eight. He began his football journey with AFC Hornchurch before moving to Charlton Athletic in 2018. Although he made several senior appearances, his main contributions were for the youth teams at the Valley.
In pursuit of regular first-team football, Quitirna declined a new contract with Charlton in 2021 and moved to Ireland to play for Waterford. He scored on his debut away at Finn Harps on 9 July and went on to score seven times that season.
In 2022 he scored 12 times, including three play-off goals, but left before the 2023 season started. He amassed nearly 50 appearances there before returning to the UK to join Fleetwood Town.
After a brief loan stint at Altrincham he returned to Fleetwood signing a new long-term deal in January 2024.
