Exeter City have announced the season-long loan signing of Johnly Yfeko from Scottish Premiership side Rangers. The deal includes an option for Exeter to purchase the player at the end of the loan period.

Johnly Yfeko, a 21-year-old centre-back from London, becomes the club’s seventh signing of the summer.

Yfeko’s career began in the Tottenham Hotspur academy. He later moved to Leicester before joining Rangers in 2022.

At Rangers, he primarily played for the B team but did make a start in the Scottish League Cup, contributing to a victory against Greenock Morton at Ibrox last August.

Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell expressed his enthusiasm about the new addition, emphasising Yfeko's potential and readiness for League One football.

"We've been looking for a replacement for Alex Hartridge and Johnly came up through my contacts in Scotland," Caldwell stated.

He added, "Johnly is very physical, big, quick, and excellent on the ball. He can bring it out, play off his left foot, and has a good range of passing. He’s someone who we think has a lot of potential, and with the work we do with younger players, he could improve a lot while he's here."
