Walsall have announced the signing of former Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah on a one year deal.

The former Ghana international has joined the Saddlers following his release from Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

“Now that I’m officially a Saddler, I can’t wait to get started,” Adomah said, speaking to the club’s website.

“I started off in League Two at my local club Barnet nearly 16 years ago so now I’m back in League Two where the journey started.

“I’ve had so many achievements in my career, getting promoted twice from the Championship with Aston Villa and Middlesbrough. Hopefully I can achieve that fate with Walsall, that’s the intention.

“It’s a young group, but with my experience, hopefully I can help the youngsters.”

Adomah became the record appearance holder in the Championship last season while with QPR with 528 appearances in the second tier to his name. The winger brings that experience to the Saddlers this coming season.

He began his career with non-league Harrow Borough before having spells with Barnet, Bristol City, Middlesborough, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest. He spent four years at Loftus Road with QPR before his move this summer.

The 36 year old has played 19 times for Ghana including one appearance at the 2014 World Cup.
