It is a team of Welsh officials in charge in Inchicore on Thursday night for the Conference League second qualifying round tie between St. Patrick’s Athletic and Vaduz.
Tom Owen is the referee for this one. He was in charge earlier in the month of Vikingur’s Champions League first round qualifier against Liepaja – that is the Faroe Island Vikingur side.
Last year he was the ref for Vikingur’s 2-0 loss to Riga – that was the Icelandic Vikingur side who Shamrock Rovers knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers last week.
In Switzerland Visar Kastrati from Kosovo will take charge of Shelbourne’s Conference League qualifier against FC Zurich.
He has experience of refereeing League of Ireland sides having been the ref in Gent for Shamrock Rovers’ Europa Conference League tie in Belgium in September 2022.
