Lilywhites bring McGowan back in

Dundalk have re-signed winger Michael McGowan, who was a stand-out performer for them last year, for the remainder of this season.

The 25-year-old proved to be a decent signing for Sean Connor last term, but he stalled on making a decision about whether to stick around at Oriel Park once Ian Foster took over.

Now, the former Northern Ireland U-21 international has committed himself to the Dundalk cause once more and is just waiting for clearance to come through so he can start playing again.

While he has some way to go before he reaches the fitness levels required, the addition of McGowan is a big boost for The Lilywhites as they have one of the smallest squads in the Premier Division.

Foster will now have another attacking option to use once the player is fit enough to feature, while Alan Cawley is set to return from a lengthy absence due to a fractured cheekbone next week.
