FAI Cup Wrap: Cork City and Pike Rovers advance to third round
Runaway First Division leaders Cork City have sealed their place in the last-16 of the FAI Cup with a narrow 1-0 win over Finn Harps.
And the Leesiders were deserving winners against their Co Donegal foes despite playing out a turgid second half at Turner’s Cross.
Malik Dijksteel’s fine finish in the 35th minute proved to be the difference between the two teams, with the Dutchman powering in a thumping effort following a run through midfield.
Tim Clancy’s side will now await their fate in the last-16, with the draw set to be made on Tuesday at 12.30pm.

Joining City in the hat is Limerick junior side Pike Rovers.
The Shannonsiders dismissed Munster Senior League top-flight champions Midleton 3-1 at home.
Dylan Murphy opened the scoring for Robbie Williams’ side six minutes before the half-time break.
But they were pegged back with 20 minutes of normal time remaining with former Cork City youth Rhys Kelly-Noonan on target.
Shane Walsh, however, scored just moments after Midleton’s equaliser, while Shane Clarke sealed the deal in the 79th minute.
A third goal for @PikeRoversFC and they're heading for the Third Round after Shane Clarke has added a goal to his two assists.
