Salford City have announced the acquisition of 32-year-old winger Jon Taylor, who has signed a one-year contract.

Taylor, boasting over 400 senior appearances in the English Football League divisions, joins Salford with a record of 60 goals and 35 assists.

His career includes stints at Shrewsbury Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough United, and most recently, Doncaster Rovers.

Despite facing injury and illness challenges at Doncaster, Taylor has fully recovered and is eager to rejuvenate his career with The Ammies.

Expressing his excitement, Taylor said, “I am so proud and happy to be here. I came here on trial to prove to the manager and the football club that I am fully fit. Many people might have written me off, but I had confidence in myself and my body. I chose Salford to show the manager, who I know well, that I am ready. I had other opportunities, but I am grateful to Salford for this chance and can’t wait to repay their faith.”

Taylor is confident about achieving another promotion with Salford City under manager Karl Robinson. “He’s an unbelievable manager, a great guy, and I love his approach to the game. The players have been amazing since day one, and I believe we are going to get promoted. I can’t wait for the first game and to get this place rocking.”
