Having memorably had Premier League officials for their Champions League first qualifying round win over Vikingur this week, the Hoops will have a team of Dutch officials in charge in Tallaght in the second round.

Referee Joey Kooij will be in charge of the officiating team from the Netherlands in Tuesday’s second qualifying round first leg in the Champions League game between Shamrock Rovers and Sparta Prague in Tallaght.

The 32-year-old referee was fourth official for Sparta’s 2-0 defeat to Rangers in Ibrox in the 2021/22 Europa League.

For the second leg in Prague on Tuesday 30 July, Italian whistler Simone Sozza will lead the officiating team.
