Ballyfermot Utd

Ballyfermot Utd host Cork based outfit Leeds AFC at Coldcut on Sunday afternoon (kick-off is at 12 noon).

Ballyfermot Utd, who recently departed with long term manager John Moore, reached this round of the competition following a 3-0 win over Rockmount AFC in the first round of the FAI Cup.

Goals from Adam Wasser, Thomas Caffrey and Dylan Nolan saw the FAI Intermediate Cup semi finalists return to Munster empty handed.

Goalkeeper Michael Quinn was on the books of both Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers as a teenager before carving out a career with Crumlin United where he experienced penalty successes in the FAI Cup against both Wexford (2017- saving from Aaron Dobbs in a 2-1 win) and Ringmahon Rangers (2021- penalty shootout win) as well as reaching the quarter finals with the same outfit in 2019.

Leeds AFC

Munster Senior League outfit Leeds AFC will be hoping that they can reach the third-round of the FAI Cup when they visit Dublin on Sunday afternoon.

Sitting second in MSL Senior First Division, the Ballyvolane outfit received a bye to the second round of the competition and recently won the Pop Kelleher Cup- defeating league leaders St Mary’s in the Final.

Defender Colin Hanafin was with Cork City Academy as a teenager, as was midfielder Dylan Foley while the Academy link is still present as long serving Leeds AFC coach Colin Yelverton is a brother of current City U20 Head Coach Greg.
