Chelsea have announced the signing of Oriane Jean-Francois from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 22-year-old French midfielder joins the London club on a three-year contract, with an additional one-year option.

Jean-Francois has accumulated 93 senior appearances in her career. She is capable of playing both at the base of central midfield and as a box-to-box midfielder.

Expressing her excitement about the move, Jean-Francois stated, “It is a good moment for my career and the player I want to be. I’m very happy to sign here and I’m excited to start my journey.”

Paul Green, Chelsea's general manager, shared his thoughts on the new signing, saying, “Oriane is a young, athletic defensive midfielder with good experience for her age. She has shown a great attitude and we are looking forward to seeing how she takes the next steps in her career whilst at the club.”

Jean-Francois began her professional career with Paris FC, making her first-team debut just before turning 18. She moved to PSG in the summer of 2022, where she spent two seasons and won the Coupe de France. Unfortunately, she suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifying in October 2023.

Internationally, Jean-Francois was part of the France squad that won the Under-19 European Championship in 2019. She made her senior debut for the national team in October 2020.
