Sheffield United sign Welsh International striker
Sheffield United has bolstered their attacking lineup with the acquisition of experienced international striker, Kieffer Moore, on a three-year contract.
Moore, who has 43 caps for Wales, joins Jamie Shackleton, Callum O'Hare and Sam McCallum in committing to United's rebuild after successfully completing his medical.
The 31-year-old striker began last season with Bournemouth in the Premier League before a loan to Ipswich Town saw him net seven goals from 14 starts, aiding their return to the top flight.
Manager Chris Wilder expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition, stating, "I have admired Kieffer's abilities for some time. Our persistence on this deal has paid off. There was a real desire from all parties to get this done, and I am thrilled to have Kieffer as part of our project. He's well known to our staff, especially Alan Knill and Jack Lester, who have worked closely with him with Wales. Kieffer has all the tools required to succeed as a Blade."
Wilder highlighted Moore's strengths, noting, "He's strong, robust, and athletic for his size. His goal record at this level is impressive. His impact in this division is clear, with his goals aiding Bournemouth and Ipswich to the Premier League. His experience will complement our young strikers."
Reflecting on his move, Moore said, "Everything fits perfectly with what I want from a club, and their ambition matches mine. Joining a great club like this is an opportunity you always want to take. I'm familiar with the area and have fond memories of Rotherham and Barnsley, which will help me settle in. I've always wanted to play regularly, and not doing that at Bournemouth was hard. I had a fantastic time at Ipswich and want to bring that experience and knowhow here."
Moore, born in Torquay, began his career in non-league football before signing for Yeovil Town in 2013. His career saw him play for Viking in Norway, Forest Green Rovers, Ipswich Town, and a loan spell at Rotherham.
He became a consistent goalscorer at Barnsley, followed by moves to Wigan and Cardiff, before joining Bournemouth in 2022.
Internationally, Moore made his debut for Wales in 2019, scoring his first goal in a Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia. He was part of the Wales squad for Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
