Wrexham AFC have bolstered their squad with the signings of goalkeeper Callum Burton from Plymouth Argyle and left-back Sebastian Revan from Aston Villa.

Callum Burton, 27, joins the North Wales club on a free transfer from Plymouth Argyle. He has signed a contract extending to the end of the 2025/2026 season.

Burton brings a wealth of experience, having played a role in Plymouth's promotion during the 2022/23 campaign, including in the EFL Trophy semi-finals where he saved three penalties in a shootout against Cheltenham Town, securing a trip to Wembley.

Reflecting on his move, Burton expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m really excited to join the club. I spoke to the manager, and he told me about the project, and it definitely was the place I wanted to come and play my football. The timing of signing couldn’t be better. It’s the perfect time for me to come in and meet all of the lads on the tour and it will be a nice way to settle myself in.”

Manager Phil Parkinson is optimistic about Burton's addition, commenting, “Callum’s profile is perfect for what we need to complement our goalkeeping department. We’re all really looking forward to working with him over the next two years.”

In another move, Wrexham have secured left-back Sebastian Revan from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee, on a contract until 2027.

Revan, 21, can play both right and left-back positions.

Revan made his competitive debut for Aston Villa in the UEFA Europa Conference League and played a role in their FA Youth Cup victory against Liverpool.

He also featured in the Premier League Summer Series in the USA and made 36 appearances for Rotherham in the EFL Championship.

Excited about his new chapter, Revan said, “I’m delighted to get the deal done. I can’t wait to get started and show everyone what I can do. It’s going to be great going to the USA and Canada."

"I’ll hopefully get some minutes and the opportunity to impress and get my season started. I want to help take the club as high up the table as we can and add both goals and assists to my game and also the team’s.”

Manager Parkinson praised Revan's potential, stating, “Seb is a player that stood out for us from his performances in the Championship and he is only going to improve with us. He offers us great versatility because he can play both on the right and the left. He’s a good young player and we’re delighted to have him on board.”
