Ipswich Town have made an addition to their squad with the signing of defender Jacob Greaves from Hull City.

The 23-year-old has agreed to a five-year deal at Portman Road. Greaves will link up with his new teammates immediately, as they prepare for a pre-season camp in Austria this weekend.

Greaves, who progressed through Hull City's youth system, had a loan spell at Cheltenham Town during the 2019/20 season. He made his league debut for Hull in October 2020 and went on to feature in over 150 league games for the club.

His performances last season earned him a spot in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season and Hull's Player of the Year award.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed,” Greaves said.

“As soon as I heard about the interest, I was keen to get the move over the line. I’ve spoken to Kieran several times, discussing tactics, playing style, and life off the pitch. Every conversation has been spot on. I’m excited to step up to the Premier League and cannot wait to get started.”

Town Manager Kieran McKenna expressed his excitement about the new signing.

“Jacob is a very talented, technical, and athletic left-sided defender who has performed exceptionally well in the Championship. He is ready to make the step up to the Premier League, and we believe this is the right environment for him to do so. He will bring valuable qualities to the group and the culture we have built here.”
