GALWAY UNITED

Galway United host Waterford on Friday evening in the Premier Division as they seek to maintain their unlikely European push (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Tribesmen head into this weekend’s game off the back of a 1-1 draw against Bohemians last week.

But they will be disappointed that they did not claim all three points versus the Gypsies.

After falling behind in the first half to a Dayle Rooney penalty, Galway levelled in the early stages of the second period through Rob Slevin.

And they thought they won it late on when Patrick Hickey bundled the ball into the net only for it to be ruled out.

Galway have not issued any team news for their home tie against the Blues but are just six points behind them with a game in hand in fifth place.

WATERFORD

Third-placed Waterford head to the banks of the Corrib with a hefty injury list.

New signing Shane Flynn is unlikely to feature as he waits for his international clearance to come through following his arrival from Leicester City.

And his potential unavailability is compounded by a five-man strong injury list.

Rowan McDonald (Calf), Christie Pattisson (Hamstring) & Kyle White (Hamstring) are all expected to miss out. Barry Baggley remains out.

Referee: Damien MacGraith.
