Aston Villa confirm Coutinho loan as Tomás signs from Levante
Aston Villa have announced two moves, with Philippe Coutinho departing on loan and Paula Tomás joining the women's team.
32 year-old Philippe Coutinho has joined Vasco da Gama on a season-long loan.
The Brazilian midfielder returns to his homeland after spending last season with Al Duhail.
Coutinho initially signed for Villa on loan in January 2022, later making the move permanent. During his time at Villa Park, he made 43 appearances and scored six goals.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa Women have secured the signing of Spanish international Paula Tomás from Levante.
The 22-year-old left-back has signed a two-year deal, with an option for a further year.
Tomás turned professional with Granotes in 2020 and has earned two senior caps for Spain.
Manager Robert de Pauw praised the new signing, saying, “Paula is a young and versatile player who can play as a full-back on both sides. She defends well and is capable of attacking up the flanks. I believe she will bring intelligence and determination to the team. I'm happy the club were able to bring her here.”
