Shelbourne winger Will Jarvis has been awarded the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Player of the Month for June, marking his second win in just four months.

Shelbourne enjoyed an unbeaten run in June, winning all three of their SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division matches, thus maintaining their lead over Derry City at the top of the table.

In the match against Dundalk at Tolka Park, Jarvis' excellent wing play set up John Martin's winning goal. He beat his defender and delivered a precise low cross into the box. A week later, he scored the only goal in a win against Waterford, stealing the ball from Grant Horton in midfield and finishing confidently.

Shelbourne have now claimed the Player of the Month award three times in the first five months.

In the vote by Soccer Writers Ireland members, Jarvis outperformed Derry's Patrick Hoban and Waterford's Connor Parsons.

Reflecting on his win, Jarvis commented, "It's always nice to win something. You can't complain after winning two in four months! I think I've had better months but I'll take the award. I'm glad to win."

Discussing his return to Shelbourne, Jarvis said, "It's looking like a good decision so far. There's still time to go but if the season finished now, it'd be a great decision. I feel like the whole club is buzzing at the minute, obviously being top of the league. Not being in Europe for so long, and being back, the fans should be buzzing. The players and the staff are buzzing."

With a sold-out Tolka Park for the UEFA Europa Conference League clash, Jarvis believes the fans, who have waited 18 years for a European night in Drumcondra, will provide crucial support.

"I'm hoping that they'll be louder than ever tomorrow," he said.

"We've never played these before, and it's nice to play a new opponent. I'm hoping the fans bring the noise, like they have most of the season and hopefully we can get a good result."
