Dundalk have secured goalkeeper Felix Goddard on loan from Blackburn Rovers.

The 20-year-old, born in Frankfurt and raised in Singapore, joined the Manchester City academy in 2017 after moving to England.

He later switched to Blackburn Rovers in 2020, where he signed his first professional contract two years later.

Goddard has gained first-team experience during loan spells at Lancaster City, Bamber Bridge, and Marine.

Dundalk manager Jon Daly is optimistic about the new addition.

"Felix is highly regarded at Blackburn. They want him to get first-team exposure and believe he can make a significant impact here,"Daly said.

"He manages the space behind the backline well, which is crucial for our pressing strategy. Blackburn's coaches believe he can be a game-changer for us."

Goddard, looking forward to the opportunity, said, "My goalkeeper coach at Blackburn mentioned the League of Ireland is a good level. I’m here to help Dundalk stay in the Premier Division and take on this new challenge."

He also praised Dundalk's facilities, adding, "The set-up here is impressive. The facilities are top-notch, and this is the kind of club where I want to kickstart my career."
