Arsenal have signed goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford on a long-term contract after a successful loan spell last season.

Raya, 28, made 41 appearances and kept 20 clean sheets, earning the 2023/24 Premier League Golden Glove award.

Reflecting on his move, Raya told arsenal.com, “After a year on loan as a Gunner, I can finally say that I’m an Arsenal player for the coming years. It’s a dream come true to be here.”

Raya joined Blackburn Rovers at 16 before moving to Brentford in 2019, where he played 161 matches and helped them gain promotion to the Premier League.

Sporting Director Edu said, “We are so happy to have completed the deal to sign David. He is a talented international, a great professional and a popular figure at the club.”

Manager Mikel Arteta added, “David showed us last season what an important player he is. We are delighted he is now officially our player and look forward to more success with him.”

Raya also contributed to Spain’s 2023 UEFA Nations League win and kept clean sheets in the run-up to Euro 2024.
