DROGHEDA UNITED

Drogheda United will be without a number of first-team players when they welcome Shelbourne to Weavers Park (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

Jethren Barr, Aaron McNally, Gary Deegan, Darragh Markey and Zishim Bawa are all doubtful through injury.

Full-back Evan Weir played his last game for the club against Derry, with his loan move from Walsall concluding.

But they can at least call on the services of James Taylor who joins on loan from Walsall.

Returning defender Elicha Ahui and former Shels man Shane Farrell may also feature after signing this week as Drogs look to right the wrongs of last weekend’s 5-1 loss away to Derry City.

SHELBOURNE

Shelbourne boss Damien Duff has called on his players to be ready for their trip to face Drogheda United.

The Boynesiders have often posed serious questions of the Reds during Duff’s tenure at Tolka Park and they are expecting more of the same.

But Shels do at least come into the game with Harry Wood, Sam Bone and Ali Coote in line to play after completing moves to Drumcondra.

“Tomorrow is a very dangerous game, Drogheda, especially away, it’s a difficult place to go to but we realise the task that is at hand,” Duff said.

“I know Kevin will have them highly motivated and they have a lot of players in their squad that are always highly motivated when they play Shelbourne.

“But we just have to make sure we play with a real cutting edge.

“We have our own motivations to do well. It is always a very tough game but we are fully prepared and ready”

Referee: Paul McLaughlin.
