Treaty United have announced the signing of Limerick native Lee J Lynch from Coleraine in the NIFL Premiership.

Expressing his enthusiasm for joining the Limerick club, Lynch said, "I’m thrilled to be joining Treaty United. The transfer comes at a time in my career when it makes perfect sense to return to my hometown and to the League of Ireland. I fully believe I can add to the club and I cannot wait to get back in front of that Markets Field crowd."

Lynch continued, "I’m very grateful for this opportunity. I’m fully committed to moving back to Limerick for work and football, and I want to sincerely thank all those who made this happen over the last few days. I can’t wait to meet my teammates and supporters in the days ahead."

Manager Tommy Barrett also expressed his delight at Lynch's return, stating, "Having worked with Lee J previously, I know the quality and experience he can bring to the squad. His combative, attacking style of play will add to our midfield options, and we are looking forward to having him back representing his hometown."

Lynch signed with West Bromwich Albion in 2008 after a successful spell in underage football in Limerick.

After a stint with Jerez Industrial in Spain, Lynch returned to Ireland with Drogheda United, where he was named Fan's Player of the Year.

He then moved to Sligo Rovers, where he won a League of Ireland title and the FAI Cup, and competed in both Europa League and Champions League qualifiers.

Lynch later joined St Patrick’s Athletic, winning the Presidents Cup, before moving to Limerick.

He had a spell with Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership before returning to Limerick for three seasons, playing a key role in their promotion to the Premier Division.

Following his time at Limerick, Lynch moved to Arizona, returned to Sligo Rovers, and then joined Larne, where he helped win the NIFL Championship and County Antrim Shield, and contributed to their Europa League qualification campaign.

Lynch joined Coleraine in 2022 and spent two seasons with the club before his move home.
