Athlone Town have announced the signing of goalkeeper Jack Harrington.

Harrington's career journey has taken him from Shelbourne, where he played in the underage leagues, to Dundalk, and then to Longford Town, before arriving at Athlone Town.

Hailing from Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, Harrington made his League of Ireland debut in 2023, stepping in after first-choice keeper Jack Brady was sent off. He marked his debut with a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory against Wexford at Ferrycarrig Park.

Following his debut, Harrington made two more league appearances for Longford Town and a substitute appearance in the FAI Cup, again stepping in after Brady was sent off late in injury time.

The 20-year-old has also been a regular for the Longford Town Under-20 side this season, most recently playing in a 4-2 win against his new club, Athlone Town.
