Dundalk snap up services of Doncaster Rovers defender Bobby Faulkner on loan deal
Premier Division basement battlers Dundalk have announced the loan signing of Bobby Faulkner from Doncaster Rovers until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old is a centre-back by trade and could make his debut for the club against Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium on Thursday night, pending international clearance.
Faulkner has also played 20 times in League Two for Doncaster and has also had loan stints with English non-league teams Spennymoor Town and Frickley Athletic.
“He’s got experience in League Two football so he’s coming in with that experience under his belt, which is fantastic for us because you don’t always get that with loan signings,” Dundalk boss Jon Daly said.
“He’s aggressive, he likes to compete and he’s brave so we’re looking forward to getting to work with him.
“He was hungry to come over. He wants to do well and he’s desperate to play. He’ll have to fight his way to get into the team and make sure he stays in it but we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do.”
