Brentford appoint Keith Andrews as set-piece coach
Brentford have appointed Keith Andrews as their new set-piece coach.
Andrews joins Brentford after leaving Sheffield United, where he was part of the first-team coaching staff since December 2023.
The 43-year-old brings a wealth of experience to Brentford.
He served as assistant manager to Stephen Kenny during Kenny's tenure as Republic of Ireland manager from 2020 to 2023.
Andrews also held the assistant manager position at MK Dons during the 2015/16 Championship season.
During his 16-year playing career, Andrews represented several clubs, including Wolverhampton Wanderers, Hull City, MK Dons, and Blackburn Rovers. He earned 35 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
Brentford's director of football, Phil Giles, expressed his excitement about Andrews' appointment.
“He is someone we have known for a while and always had in mind for a role at some point in the future."
Giles believes Andrews' focus on set-pieces will be a significant asset.
“Whilst he has had more wide-ranging coaching roles in the past, focusing on set-pieces as a specialism is something which we think he has the qualities to do extremely well," Giles explained.
