Galway United have made their third signing of the off-season with the arrival of former Derry City and Bohemians striker Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe.

Ogedi-Uzokwe, who spent the previous 12 months in Belfast with Glentoran, joins Jimmy Keohane and Bobby Burns as a new arrival at Eamonn Deacy Park.

The Londer has previously lined out in Connacht with Sligo Rovers in 2020 before a brief stint with Dundalk the following season.

30-year-old Ogedi-Uzokwe came through the youth ranks at Millwall and Leyton Orient and originally moved on loan to Derry during the 2019 season.

The forward said: “I’m very happy. It’s been a long time coming to be fair. I’ve been speaking to John for, I don’t know, past maybe year or so, where he wanted me to come to Galway.

“I don’t know, maybe at the time it wasn’t really the right time. But obviously now it’s just felt like the perfect time to be here. I’m happy and hopefully I can just crack on and score some goals.”
