Barrow sign Andy Dallas on season-long loan from Barnsley
Barrow have announced the signing of forward Andy Dallas on a season-long loan from League One side Barnsley. Dallas becomes the fourth new addition to Barrow's squad this summer, joining ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Dallas, 24, scored 41 goals for Solihull Moors and Chesterfield FC between 2021 and 2023.
The Scottish forward began his career at Rangers, signing his first professional contract in 2016 and making four first-team appearances. During his time at Rangers, he had loan spells at Stenhousemuir and Greenock Morton.
In 2019, Dallas moved to Cambridge United, but it was during a loan spell at Weymouth in the National League where he truly found his form, scoring 12 goals in just half a season.
This success led to a permanent move to Solihull Moors in 2021, where he continued his impressive goal-scoring record.
Reflecting on his move to Barrow, Dallas said, "From the first conversation, I knew that Barrow AFC was where I wanted to come and enjoy my football for the 2024/25 season. I'm just delighted to get my head down and push myself and the club forward. I wanted to come in for the first day of pre-season and I'm glad to have done the move so early."
Describing his playing style, Dallas added, "I'm a forward who likes to play on the shoulder and get in behind. I work hard for the team and I'm obviously hoping to score a lot of goals!"
Head Coach Stephen Clemence expressed his enthusiasm about the signing, stating, "We're delighted that Andy has decided to join us. There was a lot of competition for his signature. He wants to improve and develop as a player. He has the ability to stretch defences, and technically he can finish off both feet, so I'm really looking forward to working with him."
