Blackpool sign Zac Ashworth from West Bromwich Albion

Blackpool have confirmed the signing of Zac Ashworth from West Bromwich Albion for an undisclosed fee.

The Welsh U21 international joins the Seasiders on a three-year contract, with an option for a further year. Ashworth progressed through West Brom's Academy from the age of ten and secured a professional contract in July 2021.

Last season, the 21-year-old made 23 appearances for Bolton Wanderers in Sky Bet League One. 

Ashworth expressed his enthusiasm about the move, saying, "I’m over the moon to be here and really excited for what’s to come. Blackpool is a massive club and this is a great opportunity for a fresh start."

He added, "The gaffer was a big factor in the move. After speaking to him and discussing what he thinks I can offer, he made me really want to play for him and for the team. I’ve had such a warm welcome from everyone and can’t wait to meet the lads in training this week and get going in Tangerine."
