Portsmouth have secured the signing of experienced goalkeeper Jordan Archer on a two-year contract.

The 31-year-old, who has one cap for Scotland, departed Queens Park Rangers at the end of the last season.

Blues boss John Mousinho expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition, stating, "Jordan brings a wealth of experience and knows what it takes to compete at this level of the game." Mousinho, who has previously played alongside Archer at Oxford, added, "I know that he’s a brilliant character and a great professional to have around the dressing room, as well as being an excellent goalkeeper."

Archer's career began at Tottenham, from where he moved to Millwall in 2015. During his time with Millwall, he made 166 appearances and earned his senior cap for Scotland in a friendly against Peru.

His career also includes spells at Oxford, Fulham, Motherwell, and Middlesbrough before joining QPR in July 2021.

Mousinho highlighted the significance of Archer's signing, saying, "It bolsters the options we already have in that department and we’re happy to have got another signing in for the start of pre-season."
