Roebuck joins Barcelona from Man City on three-year deal
FC Barcelona have confirmed the signing of English goalkeeper Ellie Roebuck on a contract until 30 June 2026.
Roebuck, 24, moves from Manchester City where she spent nine years. She has played over 100 times for City and is also an England international.
Her honours include one English league title, three FA Cups, and a European Championship with England. She also reached the final of the last World Cup.
“I am very excited. I'd been waiting for this chance for a long time. I'm very happy to be here. You could say that now everything fits and this was the perfect time to come,” Roebuck shared with the club media.
Roebuck is keen to embrace this new opportunity, saying, “I want to test myself and live a new experience. There's nowhere better to do that than here, so I'm really grateful to get this opportunity."
Discussing her playing style, she added, “I like to play with the ball at my feet and this is the perfect team to do that with. I enjoy possession and playing out from the back, so I hope to contribute my style."
