Shamrock Rovers, Shelbourne and Derry City learn first round European opponents
Premier Division champions Shamrock Rovers have been paired with Icelandic side Vikingur Reykjavik in the first round of the Champions League qualifiers.
The Hoops are set to play the first leg away from home before returning to Tallaght Stadium for the second-leg.
Rovers bowed out of the competition last season to opposition from Iceland in Breidablik - losing 3-1 on aggregate.
But they will be hopeful of a better result this time around. Venues, dates and times are to be confirmed by UEFA.
Meanwhile, Damien Duff’s Shelbourne will play their first European tie in 18 years against Gibraltarian side St Joseph’s.
The Reds will play the first-leg at Tolka Park on July 11 before facing St Joseph’s away from home at the Victoria Stadium in Gibraltar on July 18.
Elsewhere, Derry City have also been drawn to face Gibraltar opposition in Bruno’s Magpies.
The Magpies faced Dundalk last season in the Conference League before losing 3-1 on aggregate.
But they will be looking to make amends in the same competition against the Candystripes.
Derry are due to play the first leg away from home before bringing them back to the Brandywell a week later.
