Euro 2024 Wrap: Wins for Romania, Slovakia and France

Monday’s matches brought victories for Romania and Slovakia in Group E while France defeated Austria 1-0 in Group D.

The first game of the day saw Romania defeat Ukraine 3-0 in Munich. Superb long range strikes from Nicolae Stanciu and Răzvan Marin, along with a Denis Dragus goal, secured the win. 

"It was the goal of my career,” said Stanciu speaking to UEFA.com after the game. “This shirt means everything to me. To score at a EURO finals and to win in the manner that we did, it's just incredible."

It was just Romania’s second ever win in the Euros from the 17 tournament matches.

It was a tighter affair in the middle match with Ivan Schranz’s seventh minute strike for Slovakia being the difference between his team and Belgium.

Romelu Lukaku twice had the ball in the net for Belgium but the first one was ruled out for offside and the second one for a handball.
