Dundalk have announced the return of Mark Rossiter to the club with the former defender taking up the position of opposition analyst.

The 41 year old will take up the position in Jon Daly’s backroom team having worked in a similar role under the manager at St Patrick’s Athletic.

“I’ve known Jon for the best part of 25 years and I enjoyed working with him and Graham at Pat’s earlier this season so it’s great to get the opportunity to link up with them as well.

“They’re two really good guys and hopefully, I can add something to the set-up,” manager Jon Daly said, speaking to the club’s website.

“I think it’s important to have somebody going to watch games and get the feel for other teams and what they are good at, and what they might not be good at, and to try and find a few nuggets of information that will help Dundalk over the remainder of the season.”

Mark Rossiter spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons with Dundalk where he won the League of Ireland Premier Division and EA Sports Cup as part of Stephen Kenny’s side.
