Sligo Rovers -v- Sporting Fingal
Sligo Rovers welcome Sporting Fingal to The Showgrounds this Saturday evening with both sides looking to move into fourth place. (kick off 7.45pm)
Sligo Rovers come into the game following Mondays 1-1 draw against Shamrock Rovers while Sporting Fingal lost out to Bohemians.
Mauro Almeida and Iarfhlaith Davoren will miss the match due to injury. Almeida will have surgery on his Achilles while Davoren is struggling with a hamstring knock. Matthew Blinkhorn has recovered from an ankle injury that prevented him starting the match with Shamrock Rovers last Monday night in Tallaght Stadium.
Paul Cook celebrates three years in charge of the Bit o' Red this weekend and will be keen to build on the impressive result with Shamrock Rovers.
Sporting Fingal will be without John Frost, Shane Barrett and Lorcan Fitzgerald for the trip to Sligo. Frost and Barrett have not recovered from their hamstring and thigh injuries respectively while Fitzgerald serves a one-match ban. Centre-back Shaun Maher is rated doubtful and will need to pass a pre-match fitness test to be considered.
“Our meetings with Sligo have always been tight and this one should be much the same. I predicted Paul Cook’s side would be up around the top area of the table during the campaign and I haven’t changed my mind. They have players who are capable of hurting any team”, Sporting Fingal manager Liam Buckley said.
