Salford City sign Cole Stockton from Burton Albion
Salford City have announced the signing of Cole Stockton from Burton Albion. The 30-year-old striker will join the club when the transfer window opens on 14th June, having agreed to a two-year deal.
Stockton has an impressive track record, scoring 54 goals in 150 league appearances over the last four seasons.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Stockton said, "I’m made up, I spoke to the Gaffer and since that I just wanted to get it done. I’ve had a good chat with him, I have played against him and his teams in the past many times, and his teams have always been setup well, strong footballing teams, so to have the opportunity to come and play for him now is a pleasure and something that I really wanted to get done."
Stockton is optimistic about Salford City's prospects for the upcoming season. "The way the club is moving forward, I think it is going to be a good year for us, I really do, and I am excited to be a part of it. Don’t get me wrong we’ve got to earn our right to do so as well, and I’d like to think that we are going to do that."
He added, "We’ve all got it in our head, we want to be up there, that is why we do it. We want to be up there and there is no reason as to why we can’t so we’ll look back in a year’s time and hopefully we’ve done it."
