League Preview: Drogheda United -v- St Patrick’s Athletic
DROGHEDA UNITED
Drogheda United will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak on Friday night when they host St Patrick’s Athletic at Weavers Park (kick-off is at 7.45pm).
The Boynesiders have been beaten by Galway United (3-2), Waterford (4-2), Shamrock Rovers (2-0) and Sligo Rovers (2-1).
And they face a St Pat’s side who they have already drawn 0-0 with this season at home.
But they lost 1-0 against the Saints when they last met in May.
In team news ahead of the game against St. Patrick’s Athletic, Aaron McNally remains out through injury while Gary Deegan and Conor Kane are doubtful.
Darragh Markey is again available after suspension.
ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC
St Patrick’s Athletic boss Stephen Kenny has called on his side to be at their best ahead of their clash against Drogheda United.
The Saints were defeated in their last game against Dundalk (3-2) but welcome striker Ruairi Keating back from a concussion for their clash against Drogheda.
"Drogheda's home form has been good overall and we'll have to be at our best,” Kenny said.
“We managed to win last Friday against Galway without playing all that well, and obviously the Dundalk game on Monday, we rallied strongly but we were disappointed to lose.
“It's three quick-fire games, that's the nature of it, so we've got to dust ourselves down and go to Drogheda and try to get the win that we need."
Referee: Declan Toland.
