UCD will be looking to avoid a fifth draw on the bounce when they host Kerry at the UCD Bowl on Friday evening (kick-off is at 7.45pm).

The Students have drawn their last four games in a row against Finn Harps (3-3), Athlone Town (2-2), Bray Wanderers (0-0) and Cork City (0-0).

But they remain just nine points behind leaders Cork City in their bid to secure automatic promotion back to the Premier Division at the first time of asking.

Kerry’s visit will also provide them with a test, with defender Luke O’Regan and attacker Matthew Alonge set to miss out through injury.

Harry Curtis remains suspended.

Kerry boss Conor McCarthy reckons his side are ‘capable’ of claiming a scalp against any side in the First Division this season.

The Kingdom defeated Munster rivals Treaty United on Monday evening as they moved further clear of bottom side Longford Town.

They have already drawn away to UCD (1-1) this season.

And McCarthy said: “Everyone can see this group has gone up a level and is capable of getting a result against anyone in this league.

“So if we go up there with the right attitude and perform like we have performed I think we have a great chance.

“Obviously, we went up there early in the season and grabbed a point, we had a late goal ruled out for a very close offside. If the application is right then we definitely have a chance, 100%.”

Referee: Marc Lynch.
