Max Mata moves to newly formed Auckland FC after loan spell with Sligo Rovers ends

Max Mata has gone on loan to A-League side Auckland FC for the 2024/25 campaign.
The Shrewsbury Town centre-forward recently ended a second spell at Sligo Rovers where he scored four goals in 14 appearances.
The Kiwi was the Bit O’Red’s top scorer last season with 11 goals, despite the forward leaving last summer.
23-year-old Mata, a New Zealand international with nine caps, is an Auckland native and will now temporarily join up his hometown side.
Auckland FC were only established a few months ago and will compete in the A-League, the top flight of Australian football, for the 2024/25 season.
